a bit of an oversimplification, no?

Julian Hernandez is a Cuban-American man based in Brooklyn, New York. He teaches improv and clown across NYC, having studied at iO (Chicago), UCB (NY), and FIZGIG (NY). He’s a cast member of The Second City’s first ever digital company, and is a UCB house performer. You can see his audience-driven physical comedy across the city as Jooby or with his improv duo Havana Club, seeking to boost up other Latine Performers. He’s opened for Maria Bamford and Chris Gethard. And shit, they even let our boy cook on Search Party (TBS) and in the indie hit, Free Time. He’s devised original clown shows for the New York Comedy Festival from 2022-2025, pushing the envelope with experimental-musical clown.

Professionally, Julian was the Managing Director of Brooklyn Comedy Collective from 2021 - 2023. Overseeing all theater and Training Center operations as the business reopened in the wake of the pandemic. He then went on to be the Production Manager of The Second City New York and currently operates as an Artistic Consultant for The Brooklyn Improv.
